To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use math materials so that they have access to hands-on manipulatives during lessons. With students having to transition between in-person and distance-learning, a lot of this concrete learning time is being missed. Concrete learning is a crucial aspect to comprehending math concepts. We can never have too many white board markers. This was one of the first items that came to mind when this grant was first announced. We use markers and white boards almost every single day during our math lessons. Allowing students to practice their learning on white boards during a lesson helps to boost their confidence in the concept when I am able to check the progress of their learning and offer support if needed.
