Having flexible seating along with stimulation or fidget toys will help my students stay still during silent reading time or when we are reading novels as a class. I have seen my students calm down quickly when I have given them something to hold or squeeze. It’s amazing how something so small can make a great difference! Covid-19 has affected so many kids and this is just one way I can think of to help my students out during the difficult times we have faced these last two years.
