I am requesting a classroom set of "Wonder" books I will use to model reading fluency, comprehension skills, listening skills, and expression as the students follow along in their own book. I am also requesting STEM toys which will help my students create and explore their artistic abilities. We will use the visual timer in our classroom to help us visualize the time needed to complete a task, and learn to stay on task. We will use the breathing expansion ball to master deep breathing for calming our minds. My students will explore different social and emotional needs through the variety of books chosen. We will develop our communication and problem solving skills. These books will help us dive deeper into language, science, and social studies objectives. We will travel to different places and meet different characters while we read about a plethora of character traits. We will discover how to treat others, how to deal with stress and anxiety, and to become our best selves. By reading about differences among people, we will be able to develop a sense of understanding about our diverse population. We will be able to apply the good character traits we learn about to our daily lives.
