The materials I have chosen will make a huge impact on the student learning in my classroom. Balls, magnetic boards, and puzzles help develop visual perception, fine motor skills, discovery learning and coordination. Math manipulatives stimulate both the tactile and visual senses to increase math understanding, fine motor skills, organizational skills, and memory. Reading and writing materials will increase phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and retell. Games provide social awareness, discovery learnng, and processing. Sorting and matching skills will be develope with multiple medians. CD's provide auditory stimulation augmenting reading fluency, memory, vocabulary, processing, comprehension and movement. The bookshelf and file folders will support organizational skills, routines and classroom environment. All of these tools will help students activate the auditory, visual and tactile senses, develop core strength and increase social skills. Students will develop large and fine motor skills, increase processing speeds, core strength, executive functions, social skills and confidence. All of which will impact their peer relationships, as well as their growth in education, much of which was was negatively impacted because of COVID-19.
