Giving students access to these books will help strengthen the skills I am trying to develop in my kindergarten's. Having a hard copy of each of the books we use for our reading curriculum will allow students to spend time on each of the pages to focus on the concept being taught. When we watch the read alouds on YouTube, students are not fully engaged in listening to the book. I believe providing them with these materials will allow them to fully engage with the print within the book. Also, students will have access to look and read the books they like more than just once. Living in a low income home, my students are not fortunate enough to have books and providing access to them is something I greatly desire to give my students.
