This class aims to help kids develop good decision making, and teach them how to respond to emergency situations in the mountains. We are doing on on ropes project in this class, and this project aims to give students knowledge they need to safely pursue activities in the mountains that require ropes, such as rock climbing. Students will learn how to repel, use pulley systems, belay, practice good site management, build anchors, and respond to emergency situations in vertical terrain. Overall this project is meant to give students skills they would not find anywhere else.
