It will assist in fractions, exponents, etc, so they focus on the concepts instead of basic math skills. This will enable them to focus on the higher level mathematics standards in which they are required to learn. For instance, the calculators will add, subtract, multiply, divide and simplify fractions. This is a concept in which most students severely struggle. Students do not always finish the assignments in class, but with enough calculators, I could check calculators out to those in need. Pencils are necessary daily to be successful in my class, often times students do not have basic materials such as pencils.
