The ability or inability to read affects the success level of students in every single subject. Therefore, when a child is not confident in reading, they have lower self-esteem. The materials requested will aid in the necessary skills my students need to be successful readers. The Orton-Gillingham Approach readers will provide a direct, multisensory, structured way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling do not come easily to some students, such as those with dyslexia. Visual tracking materials will help children focus on and process letters in the correct order. Directional tracking helps with phonological awareness.
