The subject that should be the most simple and straight forward is often the cause of the most angst among students. Math is that logical and clear tool that most student's say, 'Doesn't make sense.' Technology, like graphing calculators, must not replace fundamentals, but should certainly be used to visual the abstract. The lifelong benefits of Mathematics are often lost to students because of the seeming difficulty and irrelevance of the subject to their futures. These graphing calculators will help me to take some of the 'difficulty' out of math. Perhaps, then student's will be able to open their minds to the benefits of these topics. One's familiarity with a hammer is not a reflection on the hammer.
