As an educator with more than 30 years of experience, I can attest to the enormous impacts the pandemic has had on children and the widening gap of achievement between students with special needs and the general education population. It is imperative that my students not only receive intensive, explicit instruction but also have the opportunity for guided practice and independent learning with integrated hands-on manipulatives and center activities. For example, the read and touch phonic sentence match, the fill -in -the blank magnetic activity tins, finding evidence comprehension kits, reading comprehension practice cards, and the build fluency cards would be in a center for independent practice or guided practice with me which would ensure a positive learning experience. With your support I can lead them, teach them and introduce them to new avenues that will set them on their life’s course. Thank you for your careful consideration of my project.
