Quapaw is a small rural community of 816 residents. Of those residents, 23.7% live under the poverty line. In the Quapaw School System, 63.7% of students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Covid-19 was very detrimental, mentally and physically, to students who rely on the school for at least one good meal each day. In this project, Food Security, Secured, my goal is to educate students about alternate ways of preparing nutritious food that won't spoil rapidly and can be widely available. Students will be able to slice, dehydrate, and store meats, fruits, and vegetables.
