Hands-on Science Labs are amazing! The Lego kits will help the students put Newton's Laws of Motion into action in a way their computers couldn't simulate. They will be using their motor skills and their motor neurons to create like they perhaps never have before. The dissection kits will help make our specimen dissections cleaner and easier to study and learn from. Instead of having my students' faces turn green because the rat they are trying to dissect is flopping all over the place, the pads and pins will hold it into place so then they can focus on their cuts and find great surprises, like baby rats in the reproductive system. This discovery stimulates all kinds of questions and comments about our own systems and how they perform. The water kit can help the students with first hand experience about the beauty, and the rarity, of finding fresh water in this grand world of ours. Any knowledge about water, and how we can conserve it, is amazing. Having this lab will solidify the relatability between the students and the world they live in.
