My students will experience examples of friendship, loyalty, and courage through reading these books. These skills are valuable life lessons. These lessons have been strained by the interruption and isolation of Covid 19. They will also learn about a historical figure whose learning was interrupted by World War II. These books will teach perseverance, which is a much needed skill in these trying times. My students will deepen their experiences in the writing process by writing about the life skills and characters in these books and then following through with the editing of their printed writing and thus developing masterpieces. The entire writing process is a study in perseverance due to the nature of the multiple step process. Each step requires great attention to details but then allows the student to revise and improve which hopefully mimics the life skills of living and learning through mistakes and difficulties.
