Regardless of a student’s circumstances, they all deserve the best opportunities to succeed academically and access to technology is a big part of that. When we’ve been forced to move to virtual learning, I’ve seen that most students don’t have access to devices or internet at home. It’s important, then, that it be offered to all students at school. Fortunately, we are one-to-one. The addition of accessories to use our Chromebooks most efficiently gives each student the best chance to succeed at school. They may not have their own device at home, but they do at school. It’s “theirs” each day. The pandemic has caused a lot of uncertainties for many students, but school has been relatively constant and consistent in our district. The addition of computer mice and mouse pads will allow my students to work more efficiently and utilize every feature of their Chromebook. A classroom printer gives them the chance to publish and print assignments and projects. It’s satisfying for kids to see their work in print. They’re always proud to see the finished product.
