COVID-19 has created great social isolation and disconnect among the students and the communities around them. They are greatly affected when we go remote, not only do they feel lonely, they also lose social skills. With these microphones, my students will have the opportunity to reconnect with their peers and their communities in a safer way, they will become storytellers for a greater good. The microphones would be used to conduct interviews, film on location, record stories, give sound to animations, and tell powerful, transformative stories. The pandemic is not over, having a set of mics, along with health safety procedures and distancing, will help them to build on those essential social skills as they enter adulthood and feel connected to a community.

About my class
