First, let me say that my students are fortunate. They have Chromebooks, and we are very thankful for them. They use them in our class every single day to access adaptive math and reading programs. They also use them to access a plethora of library books digitally. Since they have Chromebooks, everything is at their fingertips. Even though my students have Chromebooks, they still face challenges and one challenge is that of headphones. My students need them use and need headphones. Many of the programs they have been using require them to listen. How many times have I heard my students say to me, “My headphones aren’t working any more. I can’t hear anything. I don’t know what to do.” Another challenge is an acceptable place for students to charge their Chromebooks. My classroom needs a Chromebook charging station. Right now, student Chromebooks are on a rolling metal cart in my classroom. The charging cords must be plugged into 2 power cords on the floor on each side of the cart. As you can imagine, this causes a tangled mess of charging cords every single day. Your donation would provide my students with two things: a classroom set of headphones so that they are able to listen and learn, and a Chromebook Charging Station so that my students can safely and easily plug in their Chromebooks without tripping over cords or power strips.
