My students are all working to build their foundation of reading and math skills. The pandemic has greatly affected some of their learning progress. I have students who are doing well in reading and math, but I also have several who are struggling to master the skills that are required for kindergarten. My students and I have almost all contracted the virus and/or had to quarantine at least once during this school year as well as doing remote learning for part of their Pre-K school year. These issues combined have taken a toll on their early education. I would like to provide them with some durable learning games in our classroom for daily use that are both fun and educational at the same time. These games will help my students to better grasp concepts that have been taught in class, as well as a chance to work together with their classmates, and practice their literacy and math skills. These math and reading games will turn practicing our skills into a works station that is not only hands-on and engaging, but it will also make it easier for my kindergarteners to stay focused on their learning task! Kindergarten students need to be able to have fun while learning. These games will provide a variety of ways for students to learn and fit the needs of all types of learners during reading and math stations. In addition to these games making learning more fun, they will also help my students with their social skills by practicing to take turns and communicating with their friends. These math and reading games would be something that current kindergarteners could use for the rest of this school year as well as future kindergarten students.
