All of these books are used in literacy lessons to help students build both language and articulation skills. These books are known as "sound loaded" books. This means they focus on individual sounds that the students need to work on to improve their speech. Not only are the books good for building speech skills, they provide rich language to help the students build receptive and expressive language. Strong language skills are the basis for academic success! By incorporating quality literature in speech and language lessons, I can give my students a language-rich environment in which they can learn the skills they need to succeed at school.
