Developing our language skills is an essential part of learning. We know that reading books or in the case of many of my students being read to is an effective way to build vocabulary. Many of my students do not have a personal library, so I want to provide my students with books to read at home. Having the opportunity everyday to read or be read to is a way to extend learning into the home. Not only does this experience allow my students to reach our learning goals in reading, but it also develops emotional bonds with family members connected to their classroom experience.
