Help me give my students the ability to see live organisms via a digital microscope. Due to COVID-19, individual microscope use is difficult with quarantine tracing. My 6th grade science students are expected to conduct an investigation to provide evidence that living things are made of cells; either one cell or many different numbers and types of cells. This requirement by the state is difficult for many students without giving each student one on one attention with an individual microscope. With a digital microscope, I can give my students this great opportunity sitting at their desk at school or at home. My students with special needs will also benefit greatly from this technological tool. Students that have difficulty seeing and students that have problems using the microscope now will be able to view cells like the rest of the class. In addition, my 8th graders have state standards that require them to use a microscope to study cell reproduction. My goal is to show mitosis of root cells live on the board for my students to see. Overall, all of my students that I see on a daily basis will benefit from this great tool!
