Breakout boxes help students engage with literature and other lesson content in a fun and exciting way. They are asked to use critical thinking and problem solving skills in unique ways, and that helps them understand the material more deeply. Students work in groups, which helps them forge connections with their peers. They are required to think about the content from different perspectives and work together as a team in order to be successful. I intend to use these boxes as a way to introduce students to poetry and other units filled with new content. These boxes help students have a great time learning something new, as well as give them a sense of success when they are able to breakout!

About my class
