Some of the materials chosen, students will work together to build and through trial and error, figure out how to get the ball to finish the track. This will help with social/emotional skills. Other materials will be used to address sensory needs to help regulate students so they can be ready to learn. Puzzles are great for spatial awareness and working through challenges. Many of our students are non-verbal and simple puzzles with simple pictures allow us to help the students name the picture and request the puzzle piece. All of these items can be used for multiple reasons with many different skills involved.
