Teaching mathematics without tools is difficult, as many mathematics concepts are abstract. Kids do no have prior knowledge to fully understand what is being taught. Mathematics mulitputives will help build students procedural knowledge and help them make real life connections to what they are learning. Hands on manipulatives helps engage all students regardless of their learning styles. Hands on manipulatives transcends language, ethnicity, and socioeconomics barrier.
