The students in my class get a unique experience using sewing machines to create an apron. They will be using patterns to cut out their fabric. Sewing shears are used to cut out the fabric. Using sharp shears makes a huge difference in the students' ability to cut the fabric successfully. They proudly wear their aprons and show off their new skills. Look at this awesome apron that I made! They are so excited about the new skills they are learning and get to apply in class by creating a project of their own. The students feel connected to the class through their experience of creating a sewing project of their own to enjoy for years to come.
