These Holocaust books, paired with lessons to develop empathy and resiliency, will enhance the classroom community and provide for collaboration for multiple ELA assignments. They will serve as anchor texts. Students will make strides to close the achievement chasm widened by the pandemic by incorporating accompanying diverse reading and writing assignments. Through survivor stories, my students will focus on hope and the strength of the human spirit. These books will benefit my students' academic learning and well-being. Students will use self-reflection to champion the overarching themes of hope and resiliency.
