Our classroom is quite lucky to be very diverse. We have Alaska Native, Samoans, Tongan, African American, Hispanic, and almost a little bit of everything. The students are great at teaching one another and can be quite helpful. This year we have had two students who have experienced house fires. Our class is very excited to make scarves for those in need. They are learning that even though they are only 10 they have the ability to change and affect the world around them. This is one small way they can give back to the community that supports them.
