These balances will allow my students to obtain real data they collect from doing labs. They will use this data to reinforce the concepts of mass, density, kinetic energy, and momentum. We will also be using it in a plant science class determining percent water of plant material. Students gain much more from hands on activities and seeing how deriving data themselves can lead to meaningful connections and interpretations. This will allow students to have enough equipment to allow all students the opportunity to participate in the lab. It also gives a sense of accomplishment.
