Sometimes school just seems boring and students want new and exciting content and supplies! The same old stuff to do and see every day gets to be monotonous. Students are not allowed to take their school library books home, but I encourage them to check out books from my classroom library that they can take home. Updating their choices with quality literature will increase the chances they will find a book that appeals to them. I personally love artsy activities, so I often incorporate art-related activities for students to demonstrate what they are learning in core subjects. I have been amazed at the talent that has surfaced and the increased interest in doing a project to demonstrate their knowledge. The last part of my project, engaging science activities, will help the students and ME! Interactive whiteboard lessons and quality videos will be engaging and much more informative than plain reading materials.
