When a student has an “aha moment,” I will often tell them “Wow, that was beautiful!” They will even say it to each other sometimes. Our brains are capable of so many unique, beautiful connections! Not everyone sees math in the same way! When my students are in person, I strive to give a variety of learning modes so each brain gets what it needs to succeed. With the pandemic, we were limited to more of a “one size fits all” technology approach. My students have struggled with math so much this year. This pandemic has created so many holes in their education, and yet they are still expected to perform at grade level. I want to give them more hands on materials so they can fully grasp some concepts they need to advance farther in math this year. I want them to go into middle school feeling confident with their beautiful brains!
