I want to continue to inspire a love for reading in all of my students. We do read alouds several times a week. Reading aloud builds many important foundational skills, introduces vocabulary, and provides a model of fluent and expressive reading. These books will stimulate their imagination and expand their understanding of the world. Having a diverse collection of books can support all students by having books they can read and connect with on some level while affirming their own cultural identities and developing important positive insights about others as well.
