In my classroom we do interactive notebooks to help students better retain the information they are given to mitigate the educational deficiencies that occured during the Covid shutdown. We also put great emphasis on making models to show their understanding. Students use tape to secure their pages in their notebook. One of the models we create is an energy efficient house where students use hot melt glue guns and cardstock. During Covid these projects help bridge the learning gap by providing hands-on experience they did not receive during online learning. Students are excited to show their abilities through expressing themselves creatively and showing what they are learning and retaining.
