The Rubik's Cube behaves in a predictable manner which can be characterized, mathematically, as a form of algebra. I often hear from my students, "I don't like math", so I strive to use creative methods to teach Algebra to change this negative attitude towards math. Covid-19 has caused even more frustration and distance for my students and I believe the Rubik's cube will bring excitement and engagement to my Algebra class! The Rubik's Cube promotes critical thinking and algorithmic problem-solving skills need to understand Algebra. The cubes will help both my math-anxious and my math-eager students. Rubik's Cubes provide hands-on learning experiences and fosters deep engagement and promotes teamwork. I desire to motivate and inspire my students to seek out challenges and pursue ways to think critically. Teaching Algebra with the Rubik's Cube will encourage a growth mindset and determination in my students.
