Most of our videos relate to learning how to love yourself regardless of criticism or past mistakes. This video project will be the most linguistically difficult project we have attempted. With themes of dealing with feelings during difficult and uncertain circumstances, this project speaks to what the students have experienced during the Covid pandemic. These projects allow students the opportunity to express themselves and learn about emotions whilst working on linguistic skills in American Sign Language and English. We have been filming with an old iPad which does not have the video quality to show the students’ ASL clearly. The Samsung phone will allow the students to film videos in which their American Sign Language can be clearly seen and understood. We have upcoming projects specifically using fingerspelling for which we need high-quality video for the fingerspelling to be understandable. We cannot make these videos with our current iPad. The phone will also allow students to work on editing. Posting on our social media via the phone helps us engage the students in learning about social media and internet safety.
