The books I have chosen, "Anne Frank's Diary: The Graphic Adaptation" and "Stargirl," bring different perspectives to trials. With perspective, comes understanding. I hope that by learning about other situations, my students can better cope with the trials they are experiencing. Much of those trials are due to COVID-19 and the changes that have taken place because of it. We will focus on looking at the positives and how that can make bad situations bearable. I am also excited to incorporate strong female characters into my curriculum. Both Anne Frank and Stargirl use their uniqueness to change others in positive ways. Anne Frank especially has changed the world through sharing her diary. This is something that all students can learn from.
