My students are happy and enthusiastic. They want to succeed but often cannot see why continued education after high school is important. These multicultural books will give my students roll models to relate to. My English Learners will have a chance to read books that can help them see the importance of working hard now in order to have a successful future. The other games and supplies will help them to explore and learn using manipulatives. Manipulative help to make learning fun. I know that if we believe in students and teach them to believe in themselves, they can achieve great things. Its important for students to have heroes that they can relate to and goals to work for. It's also important to create a fun learning environment. If students are taught to love learning, they will become life long learners. I'm hoping the materials requested for my project will help the students find role models to emulate and have fun learning.
