The items I have chosen will help my students reinforce what they are learning during Language Arts, Math, and Behavior small group instruction. It will also be used as an interactive and fun way for me to assess if my students have mastered the skill(s) we are currently working on before moving on to new skills. Students learn through visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile experiences and hands-on learning allows students to be more engaged, learn from their mistakes, and engages different parts of their brains. I know my students will be more engaged in my lessons and will be more willing to actively participate during small group with the tools and games I have chosen. COVID has changed the way teachers teach as well as the way parents and students participate in their education. Gaps in academic and social emotional development will be more pronounced over the next couple of years as a consequence of current real-life experiences. Special Education educators need many tools and resources to help students stay engaged and make progress in closing the gap and help their students be as successful as they can be.
