In my Japanese class, I am always looking for ways to give students authentic speaking opportunities. Unfortunately, this can be really hard in the United States, but the board and card games facilitate this spectacularly as they can be adapted to be played in Japanese while making it fun and removing pressure. Additionally, in my World History class, I have found that students love the opportunity to learn about the daily lives of people throughout history. One of the best ways to do this is through simulation games. This gives students a chance to experience the choices people had to make in the past.
