The Rubik’s Cube is engaging and inspires a growth mindset and determination. I will use the Rubik's Cube to encourage my students and make learning fun in STEM disciplines. Rubik’s Cubes help spark critical thinking, problem-solving, thinking mathematically, learning teamwork, and social-emotional skills by solving a challenging task with peers. The Rubik's Cube can help motivate students and inspire them to seek out challenges and pursue ways to think critically and solve new problems. Teaching students to solve the Rubik's Cube is rewarding! Students will learn key mathematics skills while meeting required content standard concepts such as area, surface, volume, measurement, fractions, decimals, geometry, algebra. COVID-19 has given us many new challenges and it is important that my students be confident and not be afraid to tackle difficult challenges. Learning to solve the Rubik's Cube will motivate my students to never give up. Rubik's Cubes also teach life lessons and 21st century skills such as focus, following directions, memorization, sequencing, problem solving, critical thinking, and perseverance.
