The books that I have chosen will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create! Due to a limited amount of quality books during COVID school closures, my students reading levels have declined. Each day, I strive to help improve their reading by choosing books that match my students' reading levels. My classroom library is an integral part of my students' learning. It is a place that my students really enjoy. We treat our books with love and care. We are thankful for the opportunity to read! We read together as a class as well as individually. My books are separated by genre and ability. Many of my students check out books from my library to take home to read as they don't have accessibility in their economic condition. The amount and quality of books that I currently have are limited. With the addition of these books, my students will be able to choose from a quality selection and a variety of genres, which will help them to thrive in their independent reading time. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading and will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word. This year, the teachers on my team have spent many hours in collaboration on how to help our students gain independence in reading while using technology. We have created a "blended learning" hour in our day where the students are doing a variety of activities on the computer to help aid in their learning. The addition of quality headphones will help give my students focus, control, and improve concentration while learning.
