Our school is an expeditionary school. That means we do a lot of hands-on learning. These supplies will allow my students greater access to exploring and creating with manipulatives, as well as develop problem solving and team building with the games. We will use these supplies to expand content and deepen their learning. Specifically, we will use the place value pocket chart to help solidify math concepts of counting, bundling, regrouping, adding and subtracting while using manipulatives. The pocket chart will be used during group instruction and available for students to use when needed. The students will also have better access to the materials since some of the supplies will be used to help organize the classroom. They will love the opportunity to help create their space. They will be as excited as Christmas when we receive the items.
