This project will help build the foundation my first graders need to become lifelong readers. Giving them the skills they need at an early age will set them up for reading success in the grades to come. The ability to see how words work will help them as they grow as readers. Teaching young students needs to be creative and hands-on in order to keep them engaged. Using the Touch Read phonics kit and some cozy reading spots will do just that. I want to instill a love of reading so that they can have a successful future.

About my class
