There is nothing better to a 5th grader than being able to learn a science standard and then be able to apply what they have learned in a hands on science experiment that helps them to think like a scientist. I am needing kits to help students deepen their understanding of our current science standards and to me there is no greater way than a hands on experiment. My 5th graders use their whiteboards everyday for quick checks for understanding. Ours are 6 years old and need to be replaced. I am a big baseball fan and Jackie Robinson is one of my heroes. This book would make a great addition to my classroom library. I am looking for a book to read during the month of February after we have talked about Martin Luther King Jr.
