In a technology-driven world, students often struggle with how to use that technology to adapt to the world around them. My students have challenges with social skills and communication skills. With upgraded iPads, they are able to learn different applications that will help them access their education and the world around them. Some of these applications allow students to take a snapshot of an assignment and annotate the snapshot rather than writing with a pencil. Others allow students to learn specific social skills that will help them interact with the people around them and develop friendships. The many different iPad apps that are available to aid in developing and honing these skills will greatly benefit my student's needs. Having appropriate iPad cases helps ensure that the iPad(s) will last much longer and help support multiple students across environments.
