Since I have 19 English Language Learners of varying backgrounds, these books and math activities will help them see that learning to read and learning math is so much fun. Reading wise, I have third graders at a beginning kindergarten level with learning letters and their sounds and some that can read at grade level or a little above. With math, I have some kids that can grasp our 3rd grade concepts but I have many that have huge gaps that they missed in 1st and 2nd grade. With my 3rd graders ranging from kindergarten levels to 3rd and above, I have to be incredibly flexible with my teaching to make sure they have a strong understanding in reading, math, and everything beyond. Since my students have been online for about 2 years, they missed out on so much precious socializing. We have been working super hard on learning to be good citizens. I want my kids to never forget that no matter how they look or what language(s) they speak, they are valuable in my class and on this Earth. All of my materials in my list with help them in their speaking ability, reading, writing, social-emotional learning, and math. I can easily cater to the vast needs of all my students, no matter what has them stumped!
