As a school counselor I get to meet with all of my students regularly. When meeting with students, at times they discuss some really heavy things going on in their life with me. They can be nervous to open up to me, especially when sitting on a rock hard chair. Giving students a comfy seat to chat with their counselor while holding a fuzzy pillow is a simple thing that can make a big difference. Every student I meet with and the parents I meet with as well will get to benefit from having new chairs in my office to help provide a safe and comfortable environment for them to chat with me about the many goings on in their life whether a discussion of grief, anxiety, friend concerns, suicidal ideation, scheduling, academic advisement, etc.
