These books will broaden the horizons of my students learning. Our classroom library is a very exciting and somewhat sacred area for my students. They enjoy reading books that their friends previously read and some that even their siblings before them read. These book I have chose are to continue this excitement and even emphasize it! All libraries in our area lack culturally relevant stories and books despite having a large population of Hispanic families. I want my classroom library to make ALL students feel like they belong here and that they can relate to each story in the many different ways. I believe these new stories will also be great for students we are wanting to learn about the different cultures of their friends and peers. I think these books will change the dynamic of our classroom in a big way!
