The items are needed for a variety of students who have a wide range of developmental stages and needs. The goal is for students to learn strategies that help them control intense emotions and apply those skills when they recognize that they are not coping well. Social and emotional learning is so vital to youth, and is a skill set that will carry them through life. Teaching students the fundamentals of emotional regulation will ensure that students have management of themselves in a variety of settings. These skills will build upon what students have previously learned.
