I would use these LCD Writing tablets in almost every subject. They would be good for practicing word wall words, spelling words, math problems, and writing observations in science. I would use this to engage my students as I teach them the core standards. Using different modalities helps the students retain knowledge and understand better. I would use these games/manipulatives in my small group reading instruction. They would be used to practice sight words, manipulate the phonemes in words, and practice spelling. It will help me better differentiate my instruction so I can catch my kids up from the COVID-19 pandemic which left gaps in so many of my kids' reading and writing. The kinetic sand and butterfly pavilion will be used for science instruction. In the second grade core, we talk about land formations, which I will use the sand to demonstrate in a hands-on way. We also learn about animal life cycles. The butterfly pavilion will be a perfect way to watch caterpillars turn into butterflies. During the COVID-19 closures, school was virtual so science experiments/demonstrations were limited. Students will be engaged and clearly see how landforms and life cycles work. Erasers, multicultural crayons, and the oil pastel set are all art supplies that I will integrate into the core standards. Using multicultural crayons will help make all my students will be represented and included in the art that we do. Oil pastels are another medium of art that my students have never experienced. Erasers are helpful in art as well as reading, math, and writing. l will use math dominoes when reteaching/solidifying place value and money skills. COVID-19 left gaps in math and having engaging games helps them understand and fill in those gaps.
