As a school social worker, I provide psychological counseling and crisis intervention to students, on-site and via home-visit. Offering flexible and creative therapeutic modalities aims to engage students who have historically struggled to participate in their treatment process. Play, art and music therapies have high efficacy in reestablishing healthy connections with children exposed to hardship and trauma. These offerings are especially effective in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment, as well as externalizing behaviors. The materials outlined in this project aim to support kids socially and emotionally through creative outlet, as they navigate an ever-changing world.
