If I am funded, the students will have access to a variety of reading materials including options that offer multicultural views and different literary views. The students will have access to different modes of learning from the virtual options including virtual field trips that are available on some new technologically advanced resources. My students require a variety of different physical needs and my special education students will also benefit from engaging sensory breaks if they have access to portable technology. Behavior students can also benefit from positive reinforcement that can be offered from these resources. Specifically, the students will benefit from an oculus because I have Jr. high-level students with high sensory needs. Most of the time, I have a need for my students to exert physical energy in order for them to stabilize. The issue I have had in the past is that my jr. high-level students are hard to motivate to do physical movements, whether high or low intensity. I believe the Oculus will provide me with a resource that will accomplish the sensory goal as well as be highly motivating for students with those needs. The secondary reason that I think the Oculus will be beneficial is similar, I also have students with many behavior plans. Again, at this age it can be hard to find material items and activities to use for positive reinforcement and I believe the Oculus would be highly motivational for these students as well.
